Wo men de xin jia! Our New home!


Our new home here in China.  
We decided to move to be closer to the girls school and Gary's work, also because we no longer live in a high rise!  It has been great so far!  The girls have so many friends that live here too.

Singapore Trip

We went to Singapore for Chinese New Year.  
We went to the Singapore Zoo on February 12th.

 As soon as we got there it started to pour so we got ponchos and kept walking around
We went to see the Panda, they have 2 at this zoo but one was not there.
 Later in the day the weather cleared up and we were able to see all of the other animals.
They had Orangutans hanging out in the trees.
On February 13th we took a Cable Car ride over to Sentosa Island.

 The kids loved the cable car ride.  Ben kept saying "wow"

 We had a lot of fun at Universal Studios even though it rained a little this day too!

We went to a huge candy store!
 On February 14th we went on a Duck Tour.  It is a bus that drives on land and water.  It was a great way to see the city.

We had a great time, it was a quick trip but we got to see a lot of stuff.

Chinese New Year!

 February 10th starts the Year of the Snake.
On February 9th to get into the spirit the kids wore their Chinese outfits.  The girls got to stay up until midnight to see the fireworks display right out our window.
We would like to say to everyone "Xin Nian Kuai Le"  Happy New Year!

Xin Nian Kuai Le...Happy Year of the Snake!

 Wednesday January 30th was Hannah's Chinese New Year celebration at school!  She got to wear her Chinese dress to school.
 The Preschool & Pre-K kids each sang a song in Chinese.
 Then they had a Lion Dance.
 We also had activities in the classrooms of the preschool where the kids did crafts.  
 Kenzie's Chinese New Year celebration was on Friday February 1st.  She also got to wear her Chinese dress to school!
 The Kindergarten & 1st Grade kids sang songs in Chinese.
 They also had a Lion Dance, at theirs the Lions came into the crowd!
We had a lot of fun Celebrating the Year of the Snake at school!
Chinese New Year is February 10th.  
Xin Nian Kuai Le!!

Hannah's 1st Day of School

 Hannah started preschool on January 15, 2013.  She was so excited to finally go to school!
 She goes to the same school as Kenzie, Shanghai Community International School
Hannah's teacher Ms. Maya.
She was a little nervous to stay, but Ms. Maya said she had a great first day.  Hannah was all smiles when I picked her up from school!
